The airport is located 15km (9.5 miles) northeast of Ahmedabad and about 20km (12.5 miles) south of Gandhinagar.

The two terminals are within walking distance of each other.

The airport is well signposted from both Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

There are 200 car spaces at the International Terminal, and 250 at the Domestic Terminal. More car parking facilities are under construction.

Local car hire companies have offices on the Arrival side of the Domestic Terminal. Hertz (tel: (079) 30997543; website: www.hertz.com) also offer chauffeured cars for hire.

Road: Bus: There is a city bus service but it is fairly limited.
Taxis: A prepaid taxi counter can be found at the airport, operated by the Taxi Drivers Association.

An information desk is located in the International Terminal.

Money and communications: There is a bank and a bureau de change in the International Terminal.
Shopping: A variety of shops are available throughout the airport, including a branch of Bombay Stores, a newsagent and a shop selling local handicrafts. A duty-free shop is available in the International Terminal.
Eating and drinking: There are several juice and snack bars located throughout the airport.
Luggage: Trolleys are available, and there is a lost and found office.
Other facilities: There are rest rooms for transit passengers in the International Terminal (tel: (079) 286 9266).

There are no conference or business facilities at the airport, but the Taj Residency (tel: (079) 6666 1234 or 2286 9999; website: www.tajhotels.com) nearby has extensive facilities, including a business centre, broadband Internet access, fax, printing and scanning facilities, laptop hire, workstations and secretarial services. There are also three conference rooms.

Wheelchairs are available, and so is assistance for disabled travellers. Please notify your airline prior to travelling.

The hotels closest to the airport are the Sunset Comfort Inn (tel: (079) 286 2591) and the Taj Residency (tel: (079) 6666 1234 or 2286 9999; website: www.tajhotels.com), both 2km (1.25 miles) from the terminals. The Ashok Palace (tel: (079) 286 1133) and the Moti Manor (tel: (079) 286 9976) are located a little bit further away (4km/2.5 miles).
