Airport News
Varna Airport became part of the Fraport family of companies in November 2006. A 35-year concession contract for Varna Airport was signed in September 2006. The investments planned for the entire contract period include improving the quality of service at airport and building new terminal facilities. A new terminal is expected to be completed by 2009.
Transfer Between Terminals
Due to the remoteness of terminal 5, there are shuttle buses between this terminal and the other terminals, which are all located near each other.
Driving Directions
From Varna, head west on the E70. Then turn onto the A2 after about 4km (2.5 miles) and follow signs to the airport. In the opposite direction, drive east on the A2 from the airport and turn onto the E70 road after 3.5km (2 miles) and follow signs eastwards to Varna. Both the airport and the city are well signposted. The drive takes about 15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

A large parking lot is available opposite the international terminal buildings, and there are both short-term and long-term parking spaces available.

Car hire companies represented at the airport include Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt.
Public Transport
Road: Bus: The bus stop in front of the VIP hall is for buses going to the city or sea resorts. All passengers who wish to travel to Varna city or to the resorts must use this bus stop only. Bus 409 goes to the coach station in Varna city centre and from there on to Golden Sands. Buses operate every 15 minutes between 0545-2300. Tickets can only be bought from the ticket collector.

Information and Help Desks
There is an information desk (tel: (52) 573 323) in the public area between terminal 2 and terminal 3, and there are timetable displays in all terminals.

Money and communications: ATMs are available in terminals 2 and 4. Licensed foreign exchange services are available in terminals 3 and 4. There are telephones booths and post boxes in the terminals. Internet access is available in all terminals.
Eating and drinking: The four coffee bars at the airport are located in the public and transit areas of the terminals. They serve beers, hot drinks, soft drinks, wines, spirits, sandwiches and snacks.
Shopping: There are four duty-free shops at the airport. They are located beyond the security control in terminals 2, 3 and 4. They sell cigarettes, wines and spirits, perfumes, cosmetics, watches, sun glasses and much more.

There are special facilities for disabled people at the airport. There are reserved parking spaces, wheelchairs, toilets for wheelchair users, ramps and a lift for loading and unloading to and from the aircraft.

There are no hotels at the airport. The city is nearby and there is a variety of hotels downtown all offering a shuttle service.
