The airport is located in the city of Santa Cruz, 16km (10 miles) to the northeast of Funchal.
Driving Directions
The main road to the airport is the Via Rápida (R101), and the drive from the centre of Funchal to the airport takes around 15 minutes.

Car parks 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7 are available to the public. A direct access walkway from the car park leads to the passenger terminal, providing greater comfort to users.

In the departure area on level 2, products for sale include perfumes, local products, sunglasses, children's fashion, Madeira embroidery, leather products, travel accessories and much more.
Luggage: A left luggage facility is available on level 0. The police station (tel: (291) 520 889) is located near the terminal, and it is the place to go to with queries about lost and found items.
