The airport is located 26km (16 miles) to the north of Ljubljana.

A new passenger terminal, T2, is planned, and construction work will begin in 2008. Currently an upper floor for departure lounges and border control is being built at the existing terminal. The upper floor will later connect with the new T2 terminal.

From Ljubljana the most convenient access to the airport is by the E61 motorway. Head north following signs to Brnik, and then follow signs to the airport. Coming from the direction of Gorenjska towards Ljubljana, take the E61 and follow the signs and take a right turn in the immediate vicinity of the airport. Coming from the centre of Kranj, the airport is easily accessible by the local road 104.

A multistorey car park with more than 1,300 parking spaces is located opposite the passenger terminal. A further 900 parking spaces are located a bit further away from the terminal, but still within walking distance. Traffic lights at the car park entrances indicate the availability of parking spaces.

The following car hire companies are available at the airport: Atet, Avis-Alpe No 1, Budget, Dollar & Thrifty Car Rental, Europcar-ABC, Hertz-AMZS, National and Sixt.

Road: Bus: There are frequent bus connections between Ljubljana Airport and Ljubljana and Kranj, around every hour to and from Ljubljana and slightly less frequently to Kranj. A private bus service to Ljubljana is available. As it goes directly to the city, the trip takes about 30 minutes, while the ordinary bus routes takes 45 minutes. The bus journey to Kranj takes 15 minutes.
Taxi: The taxi rank is located right opposite the terminal. Taxi availability corresponds with the arrival of incoming flights. It is possible to make reservations in advance (tel: (04) 206 1678).

The information counter and meeting point are located in the departure hall next to passengers registration counter. The tourist information centre is located in the waiting area of the arrivals terminal.

Money and communications: A bank, currency exhange counter and post office are located in the departures area. There are also ATMs available in the terminal, one of which performs exchange operations. Wi-Fi access is also available in the terminal building.
Eating and drinking: There are several bars and snack bars in the terminal building, some of them with premises outdoors during summer. There is also a restaurant that offers both self service and an a la carte menu.
Shopping: The shop and exchange office Kompas offers a wide range of Slovenian souvenirs, products and gift items among other things. There is also an exchange office in the shop. The Medved general store is located in the departure terminal. A Mobitel Centre is located at the main entrance of the passengers' terminal, where mobile phones can be rented or mobile phone cards or Wi-Fi cards can be bought. A duty-free shop is located in the international zone.
Luggage: The lost and found counter is situated in the reclaim area (look for the lost and found sign or the abbreviation LL). It is possible to phone for information about lost luggage (tel: (04) 259 4339 for Adria Airways or 206 1226 for all other carriers).
Other facilities: Most of the baby changing facilities are located in the ladies' toilets, but there is one facility in the terminal that can be used by both parents. Medical services (tel: (04) 206 1641) are available for all passengers and visitors who need medical treatment.

A large, modern conference hall (tel: (04) 206 1418) is located in a separate building at the airport. The hall can host events of 100 participants or more. In front of the conference hall, a multipurpose hall is also available. Available equipment includes audio system, presentation equipment and a system for simultaneous interpretation. A conference hall (tel: (04) 206 1206) with 22 seats is available in the passenger terminal. It has equipment suitable for mini conferences, meetings and various conventions. A spacious VIP lounge which includes a press conference room, fully equipped for simultaneous interpretation, is also available. The airport's business lounge gives access to phones, fax and the Internet.

Car parks designated for disabled passengers are available at parking lot number 1 and 2.

Hotel Silvester (tel: (04) 252 7760) and Penzion Jagodic (tel: (04) 252 1333) are both located in Vopovlje just 3km (2 miles) from the airport.
