The airport is located 11km (7 miles) southwest of downtown Columbia

The airport is conveniently located near I-20, I-26, I-77, and nearby I-95. From Downtown, head west on US-378 and turn left (south) where US-378 meets US-1 and follow US-21 until the exit to Airport Boulevard to the right. Follow Airport Boulevard to the terminal.

Alamo-National, Avis, Budget Car Rental, Hertz and Thrifty all have counters in the airport terminal-lower level baggage claim area.

Road: The taxi and shuttle pick-up area is located just outside baggage claim. Taxi: The following taxi services provide transportation to and from the airport: Ard's Shuttle (tel: (803) 791 5767), Blue Ribbon Taxi (tel: (803) 754 8163), Capitol City Cab (tel: (803) 233 8294), Checker Yellow (tel: (803) 799 3311) and Classic Cab (tel: (803) 348 0662). Shuttle: Earth Shuttle (tel: (803) 714 0080) and Shuttleways (tel: (803) 783 0265) provide shuttle services. Several hotels in the area provide free shuttle transport. A hotel courtesy phone is conveniently located in the baggage claim area. Bus: Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (tel: (803) 255 7100) operates bus services between the airport and the city.

The airport's information desk (tel: (803) 822 5000 or 1 888 562 5002) is open from 0630 to 2230 daily and is located on the upper level. Copier and fax services, along with paging and information services are available.

Money and communications: An ATM is available in the terminal. The airport offers free wireless public Internet access, as well as hard-wired Ethernet ports located at user stations in the main terminal. Eating and drinking: Food is available on both levels of the terminal. The main restaurant area is located centrally on the upper level. Shopping: There are several shops at the airport, including gift shops and news stands. Luggage: For items left on airplanes, please contact the airline. For items left in the terminal area, please call the information desk (tel: (803) 822 5000 or 1 888 562 5002) every day 0630-2230. Other facilities: There is a chapel and a game room on the upper level of the terminal building.

The airport business centre (tel: (803) 822 7950) is open from 0800-1800 on weekdays. It is located in the main lobby of the terminal and includes a conference room for meetings, computer workstations with communications capabilities, fax and copy machine, a lounge and a kitchen area. The Carolina room on the lower level can accommodate groups of up to 80 people. Reservations for use of this room use must be made in advance.

There are ramps and lifts throughout the airport, as well as disabled parking spaces for wheelchair-bound travellers. Some signage is in Braille, and Skycaps are on hand to help.
