The airport is located 24km (15 miles) south of Akron and about the same distance north of Canton.

The airport opened a new four-gate passenger concourse in early May 2006. It is the centrepiece of a US$60 million, five-year expansion project. Other elements in the project include longer runways, a new baggage claim wing, additional car parking and a food court. The new North and South concourses are expected to be entirely completed by September 2006.

From Canton, take the I-77 north to exit 113 (Akron-Canton Airport). From Akron, take the I-77 south and follow signs to exit 113 (Akron-Canton Airport). From exit 113 cross Lauby Road and the terminal building is directly ahead.

There are four parking lot options at the Akron-Canton Airport. The free waiting area (often called the cell phone lot) is adjacent to the terminal. Vehicles here must be attended at all times. The short-term parking lot is located in front of the terminal. It is the most convenient but expensive parking option. The long term lot offers easy access to the terminal although it is further than short term. The economy lot is the most affordable parking option but is located yet further away. A complimentary door-to-door shuttle service is provided from the long-term and economy lots. All parking lots are accessible for disabled people.

Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty all operate from the airport.

Road: Bus: Akron Metro (tel: (330) 762 0341) operates bus routes between the airport and Akron. Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) (tel: (330) 454 6132) buses take travellers to downtown Canton. Shuttle: Shuttle One Services (tel: (330) 494 5800) offer a full range of transportation services. Taxi: Yellow Cab of Akron (tel: (330) 253 3141), Airport Express Cab Co (tel: (216) 224 1659) and Akron CCL Taxi Co (tel: (330) 353 6543) are local taxi companies servicing the airport. All of these ground transportation options can be found in the baggage claim area or just outside on the kerb.

The information centre (tel: (330) 896 2385) is located near the entrances to the terminal building and is open Mon-Fri 0900-2000, Sat 0900-1700 and Sun 1200-1900.

Money and communications: An ATM machine is located in the north end of the terminal next to the gift shop and adjacent to the Traveline service centre. Free Wi-Fi Internet access is available throughout the terminal. A pay-per-use computer kiosk is also located in the north end of the terminal within the Traveline service centre.
Eating and drinking: The pre-screening food court includes a fast-food outlet, restaurant, bar, coffee kiosk and a snack bar.
Shopping: There is a gift shop in the terminal building open from 0415-2000.
Luggage: If items are lost at a security screening checkpoint, call the Transportation Security Administration (tel: 1 866 289 673). For items lost in other parts of the airport terminal, call airport information at (tel: (330) 896 2385).
Other facilities: Traveline (tel: 1 440 602 8049) offers onsite booking of airline tickets, cruises, and vacations. Onsite travel support and Internet access is also available at the Akron-Canton Airport location.

A business lounge will be opening in the gate areas, and two new conference rooms will also be added with the completion of the terminal in September 2006.

Parking spaces for disabled people are available in all parking lots, near shuttle pick-up areas and in front rows. All airport parking shuttles are lift-equipped. Wheelchair service is available from the airlines inside the terminal building. All public area restrooms are wheelchair accessible. Most of the terminal is single-level. Lifts are available at the gates and in the terminal.
