The airport is situated 11km (7 miles) northwest of Aberdeen.

The airport is currently undergoing a two-year, GBP10 million expansion, incorporating runway extension and improvements to the international arrivals hall.

The airport can be reached via the access road, which is signposted from the A96 Aberdeen-Inverness road. The airport is on the A947 at Dyce.

There are two car parks at the airport; the short-term car park is situated in front of the terminal building and the long-term car park is off Forties Road and offers a courtesy bus to the terminal. For more parking information, contact (tel: 0870 850 2825); or book via the airport website.

Avis, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz and National/Alamo desks are located in the terminal building. Other car hire companies can be contacted via the airport information desk.

Rail
Dyce station, served by Aberdeen to Inverness train services (tel: 0871 200 2233; website: www.travelinescotland.com), is a short taxi ride from the terminal.
Road
Bus: Bus services operate from the airport to Aberdeen city centre. Companies operating from the airport are First Aberdeen (tel: (01224) 650 065) and Stagecoach Bluebird (tel: (01224) 212 266). Taxi: Rainbow Airport Taxis (tel: (01224) 725 500 or 878 787 or 494 949; website: www.rainbow87.com) operates a taxi service from Aberdeen airport, with booking available online. The central reservation office is located opposite the main terminal building. A meet-and-greet service and executive cars are also available.

The airport information desk is located in the check-in area on the ground floor of the terminal building.

Money and communications: There is a bureau de change also selling holiday and travel insurance. ATMs are available before and after security. Wireless Internet is available at several points.
Eating and drinking: The airport has a pub, a bar and coffee shop and several restaurants.
Shopping: There are bookshops and a gift shop at the airport. There is also a duty-free shop. A shopping collection service is available. For further information, call the Shopping Information Line (tel: 0870 850 2825).
Luggage: Left-luggage and lost property services are available (tel: 0870 040 0006).
Other facilities: These include mother and baby rooms, a quiet area and a family entertainment area.

The Aberdeen Airport Thistle Hotel (tel: 0871 376 9000; website: www.thistlehotels.com) has conference facilities for up to 500 delegates and a boardroom for rent (tel: (01224) 725 757). The Speedbird Inn (tel: (01224) 772 883; www.speedbirdinn.co.uk) can hold 20 delegates in its conference room. There is a Servisair Executive Lounge (tel: (01224) 722 331) after security in the central Departures area, near Gate 1, with credit card telephone, fax and Internet facilities. Access is via a lift. There are also airline lounges situated in the Departures areas.

The airport has unisex disabled toilets throughout the terminal, as well as ramps and lifts. Induction loops are fitted throughout the terminal building and there is a Minicom service (tel: (01224) 725 082). Reserved seating is also provided. Disabled drivers can park in the short-term car park at long-term rates, if they display an orange/blue badge; those using this facility must inform NCP on the length of stay upon arrival to avoid incurring short-stay rates. Wheelchair push and provision, and help with baggage before check in, is available free of charge to disabled passengers. Passengers requiring assistance should contact the airline prior to travel.

There is a new terminal reception area for passengers needing special assistance. The reception desk is permanently manned to help passengers between the point of check-in and boarding the plane. Passengers interested in using this service should give 48 hours' notice of their visit (tel: (01224) 725767).

The Aberdeen Airport Thistle Hotel (tel: (01224) 725 252; website: www.thistlehotels.com) and the Speedbird Inn (tel: (01224) 772 883; www.speedbirdinn.co.uk) are both located in the airport grounds. The Thistle Hotel runs a courtesy bus to/from the airport, whereas the Speedbird Inn is located within walking distance of the terminal building. The Travelodge Aberdeen Airport Hotel (tel: 0871 984 6309; website: www.travelodge.co.uk) is also very close by.
