The airport is situated inside the city perimeter, around 8km (5 miles) north of central Quito.
Airport News
A replacement, considerably larger, airport is currently under construction around 25km (15 miles) east of Quito, and is scheduled to replace the existing facility from 2009.
Transfer Between Terminals
The airport has two terminals linked by a pedestrian walkway.
Driving Directions
To get to the airport from the city, take 10 de Agosto Avenue as far as Amazonas Avenue. From any other location outside the city, take highway Panamericana to 10 de Agosto Avenue and then Amazonas Avenue.
Car Parking
The airport has 300 parking spaces for long and short term parking (tel: (02) 2944 900, ext: 2634).
Car Hire
There are several car rental companies at the airport including Avis, Budget, Hertz, Localiza and Team.
Public Transport
Road
Bus: From the airport there are several buses lines together with Trolebus (tel: 1 800 876532; website: www.trolebus.gov.ec) and Ecovía Services. They run through the city and downtown. The 'Metrobus-Q' systems have an integrated and differentiate services which offer a special rate for senior citizens and disabled users. These buses run through America Avenue, Prensa, Diego de Vasquez and Amazonas Avenue.
Shuttle: Major hotels run shuttle vans from/to the airport.
Taxi: Taxis are readily available from outside the terminals and operate fixed-rate fares to various zones in the local area. For other city authorised taxis, it is advised to request the driver to turn on the taximeter to calculate the fare.

Information and Help Desks
There are two information booths located inside the airport, one at the international departure and the other at the domestic departure. The airport has bilingual customer service personnel. The booth for tourist information from Metropolitan Tourism Corporation (website: www.quito.com.ec) is located in international arrivals.

Money and communications: The airport has four US currency ATMs located at the domestic terminal and they accept all major credit cards. A bureau de change is located in the international departure hall. Telephone booths are available in the international departure hall and they accept coins and credit cards.
Eating and drinking: Restaurants and cafeterias are available in both terminals.
Shopping: The airport has a commercial area with a wide range of shops and duty-free shops. Ecuadorean crafts and souvenirs are a speciality.
Luggage: Paid-for baggage carts are available in the baggage reclaim area of the international arrival terminal. Porter service is also available.
Other facilities: Medical, emergency and pharmacy services are available at the airport.
Conference and Business Facilities
There are no meeting or conference rooms available at the airport. However, there is a VIP lounge (tel: (02) 294 4900, ext. 2615) available to all passengers for a fee (cash or credit card payment). Many of the airlines grant their first class passengers free access to the VIP lounge.
Facilities for Disabled Travellers
Facilities for disabled travellers include ramped access and lifts, adapted toilets and parking spaces. Wheelchairs are available on request from individual airlines; passengers should inform their airline prior to travel.
